In general this is what touring looks like. What tracks do you like me to play live?? (Taken with Instagram at De Kelder)

It’s been a while since I gave you all some updates on the new album, it’s nearly done! Today I finished the boring exporting process. You see, I write the album in Ableton Live, it’s easy and fast to work with synths and record audio, I really like it for that. But for mixing I tend to turn back to the traditional style of music program.
I was thinking about ProTools to mix the album in, it’s solid and comes with some nice tools, but I decided to turn back to Logic, since I already own that program and I have lots of special little audiounit plugins that can’t be used in ProTools.
So, now all that is left is the mixing process, still a load of work since I’d like to go the creative way with mixing, re-amping stuff, layering the same sound with different processing, maybe even recording some additional stuff when I feel like it.
I’ll keep you all updated in any case, oh and watch this space next week for my new Top 10 of March mix!
I’m now on beatports brand new Dj profile thingy! Check it out!!!
A interesting article on how to make decisions during the mixing process that will give your track that more oomph in terms of loudness, making the mastering process even more effective afterwards!
Mix Tip || Nice video by the people at Brainworx on how and why to record in M/S by using one figure eight mic and a cardioid mic.
