Currently importing all the CD’s I usually take out to DJ gigs, my intention is to “match” them all later to iTunes Match, seems like a good way to back up my collection and have access to it whenever there is an internet connection available. Do any of you have experience with it and cane you offer me some tips on playlists and stuff?

Beatsurfing || Just came across this site, looks like an incredibly versatile MIDI controller for the iPad, you can create your own shapes and the idea is that you ‘surf’ your finger around the screen to create complex midi sequences. I’m going to use it for some elaborate keyboard with weird key scaling, will let you know how it goes!

Bitwig Studio video || A while back I told you about Bitwig, some of my favorite audio software and plugin developers are working on this new Digital Audio Workstation, and it’s about to enter the beta phase. I’m hoping to be part of it but if not, they have promised to release some preview video’s during the beta period for us that won’t be able to participate in the beta. It looks really cool, what do you think?

One of my favorite plugins out there is the FM8 by Native Instruments, and what better way to spend your sunday afternoon than to watch some cool tutorials on how to work with this beast!

Mac Pro Video is a great site for video tutorials on all kinds of music, video and other creative software on a mac. David Earl aka SFLogicNinja made this cool series about the FM8, and it has some good solid tips on how to create your own sounds. Check out one free video here.

Plugin Tip : Xils-Lab : Chorx

Just before I started mixing my album - which is coming along nicely - I went on the lookout for some cool plugins to use, to give me some fresh tools to experiment with.

I’ve been using Xils-Lab products for some time now and they just released a new effect, its a cool chorus called “Chorx” that also has the option to place your sounds in the depth field, really cool for layering stuff, givings stuff more width or just stick it on a send with a weird setting to give some sparkle to your hi-hat patterns, really cool result.

Check out the demo, and you can get it with a $20,- discount till April 30th. Or just listen to the album when it’s finished to get the results :)

Renoise Update || This is really looking good, must have mentioned it before on my blog, I’ve started out using trackers and kinda moved away to Logic and Live over time. But seeing this makes me kind of homesick, will be doing some tracking this evening I think!
