Just before I started mixing my album - which is coming along nicely - I went on the lookout for some cool plugins to use, to give me some fresh tools to experiment with.
I’ve been using Xils-Lab products for some time now and they just released a new effect, its a cool chorus called “Chorx” that also has the option to place your sounds in the depth field, really cool for layering stuff, givings stuff more width or just stick it on a send with a weird setting to give some sparkle to your hi-hat patterns, really cool result.
Check out the demo, and you can get it with a $20,- discount till April 30th. Or just listen to the album when it’s finished to get the results :)
So, check it out!
Mix Tip || Nice video by the people at Brainworx on how and why to record in M/S by using one figure eight mic and a cardioid mic.
I’ve been using Circle for a few years now off and on. Just found this video of Umek using it to make a nice dirty little bassline using the very flexible LFO’s. Funny guy that Umek :)
Native Instruments : Vintage Compressors || Haven’t tried them yet but they seem to sound pretty cool! And you know the saying; “You can’t have to much compressors” :)
Check out more info on the Native Instruments website!
